We enjoyed our first stay so much that we came back two months later, in November. We can vouch for the fact that these pods are plenty warm enough for the colder weather. We again made use of the launching facilities for the canal, and enjoyed several peaceful paddles both upstream and downstream. And we also made good use of the log burning stove. This is one of the most relaxing places we have ever been to for a short holiday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We originally spotted the Dilham Hall Retreats glamping pods from the canal while out kayaking, and thought they looked in a nice location and worth trying. Now that we have stayed there for several days, we found our pod to be clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and in a wonderful location for stargazing on a clear night. We will certainly be going back. Holly O'Sullivan6 September 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stayed in Swallowtail glamping pod with my partner and it was the best! The views from the cabin were amazing and the cabins themselves are spread out enough with privacy fences that it feels like you're alone which is really relaxing. The car parking was also very close to the cabin and they provided carts to use for transporting your luggage. We made use of the hot tub, fire pit and BBQ and all were very good! The cabin itself is clean and tidy and actually more spacious than I was expecting which is great. A small suggestion would be a physical welcome book in the cabin. We personally struggled to understand how the oven worked with the different symbols and had to use Google to find a manual for it. Not a big deal at all and we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but it would be nice to have something to hand with some extra details about the cabin! Overall, thank you so much for a wonderful stay! It has King-size bed and twin room with two small single beds, a well-equipped kitchen, a shower room and toilet. There is central heating, a smart TV and WiFi. Outside you will find a picnic bench and a fire pit and grill. 🌿One of our highlights was the private wood fired hot tub which you fill yourself on arrival and heat using the fire. We were really impressed with how simple this was to do (says the girl that had nothing to do with the fire!) and how quickly it heated up. There was enough room for all four of us in it. I really like how these hot tubs are freshly filled and no chemicals being used within them. 🌿The pods are a good distance from each other, the screen around the hot tub and the wild grass and flowers between the pods give great privacy and you can go your whole stay without seeing anyone else! 🌿We loved the view of the canal and countryside whilst sitting outside cooking on the fire pit and eating at the picnic table. S’mores are a must! There was so much space for the girls (and poppy our dog) to run around and explore. 🌿The inside of the pod was spacious and very modern, It’s so cosy in there and I would imagine the winter is a perfect time for a stay too! It’s great that the girls had a separate room so when they went to bed we could relax outside without waking them. 🌿A 5 minute walk from the pods is dilham hall canoe hire where you can hire a variety of canoes and kayaks. We hired a canoe and explored the canal. It was so peaceful on the water and Poppy enjoyed swimming alongside us! We also took our paddle boards which we used on the water too. (Discounted hire prices available for guests) 🌿We would highly recommend a family break here - it had everything (and more!) that we needed to have some great quality family time. Super clean on arrival and very well thought out facilities in the pod. The wood fired hot tub was an ideal way to relax after trying some of the local loop walks and a great paddle on the canal. We were able to launch from a few metres away from our pod. Super peaceful on the site as there is plenty of room and a wild area between each pod. Simply put, I can’t wait to return. elaine whittle12 August 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an amazing stay at Dilham Hall Retreats. The location is perfect, right by a canal in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a little break and be at one with nature. The pods are clean, spacious, well designed and decorated, and nicely spaced apart from one another with high bushes offering privacy in your own outdoor space. The hot tub is so much fun and very relaxing. There is a firepit with a bbq grill attached and a picnic bench to eat on. We hired a boat onsite and took a trip up the canal to a pub, and had a few day trips out to Great Yarmouth and Sea Palling beaches. If we had one request it would be to have a clothes rack/washing line to dry all our towels on as you need to bring separate ones for the hot tub. The 5 star review still stands though! Thank you for having us and hopefully see you again soon. Sergio Paula15 July 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a lovely few days at Dilham Retreats, the pods are spacious and well-equipped with fantastic views from your doorstep. The wood-fired hot tub was ideal and we were able to launch our paddleboards almost directly from our doorstep too. The canal was weed free and easy to paddle with lots of wildlife to keep us entertained. The pods are far apart so it feels like to have the site to yourself...great for relaxing and connecting to nature. Highly recommended!!
